For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently seeking a System Interfaces Engineer to focus on the establishing and maintaining system design justifications, system design, tradeoffs, and system budgets. Tasks Analysis and justification of the system design Provide input to the system design justification document, especially concerning end to end performance aspects Identify all system areas that require a budget to be maintained Perform an apportionment between Space and Ground segments and any other element involved Control and document all technical budgets in accordance with ECSS standards Monitor lower level technical specifications and budgets for compliance to system apportionment Provide support to the IFCT and when needed ensure IFCT results are documented in a systematic manner Provide support to general system engineering activities Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification ad hoc internal reviews system level formal reviews SRR, PDR Provide support to progress meetings Support IVV activities. Qualifications and Requirements Applicants require a university degree in the domain of engineering, science or equivalent. The engineer shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Fluency in English the working language at EUMETSAT is English.. Knowledge of French would be an advantage. Essential At least 5 years of experience in the field of space engineering andor ground system engineering Experience of large space systems space andor ground segment Demonstrated capability to clearly document a system design and justification Demonstrated ability to analyse system level requirements and apportion to lower level elements Experience of establishing and maintaining endtoend budgets. Desirable Experience in the area of LowEarth Orbiting satellites LEO Experience with DOORs would be an advantage Experience in RAMS Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety.
