Looking to develop a career within a large international organisation alongside industry experts in the space sector? Europes Meteorological Satellite Agency EUMETSAT is seeking a System Engineer to be responsible for the engineering and maintaining of the multimission data dissemination facility and all related functions. This is an exciting and challenging role offering variation and exposure to different satellite systems. Along with a university degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject, the key candidate shall have skillsexperience in each of the following areas Proven experience in an operational environment, providing highavailability 247 services on mission critical systems, preferably in the Earth Observation EO satellite domain. Knowledgeexperience disseminating large volumes of data via satellite andor terrestrial Wide Area Networks. Awareness of commonly used datatransfer communication protocols Proven experience in operating systems such as Linux, AIZ and Windows software engineering system scripting andor programming preferably in an object orientated language Computer and Network architectures. Experience in project management of smallmedium size IT andor software projects Skillsexperience in any of the following areas would be considered advantageous Experience in longterm maintainability analysis and modernisation of operational systems Experience in the interacting with external industrial support entities, organisation and business partners. Candidates require excellent team working skills with the ability to deliver in a highly dynamic, customer orientated work environment. All candidates must be EUMETSAT member state nationals with a good working knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
