Job description For our customer, ESAESTEC, we are seeking an experienced Electromagnetics EMC Engineer to work at ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to the Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC Section TECEEE within the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management. The tasks encompass support to the section activities in ESA space mission development with Functional Support in EMC engineering to the Agencys Projects throughout all phases of Project life cycle. This includes Definition and assessment of EMC requirements at both System and equipment level. Definition and assessment of EMC test and verification procedures of spacecraft equipment and systems. Electromagnetic and circuital analyses. Assessment of EMC test results, EMC nonconformances and Request for Waivers. Troubleshooting activities for spacecraft equipment and system exhibiting electromagnetic interference. Active participation to Spacecraft or payloads Preliminary Design Reviews PDR, Critical Design Reviews CDR and Flight Acceptance Reviews FAR. In particular, specific tasks for this position are Calibration and validation activities for the inorbit Swarm magnetic instrument package. Investigation of Magnetic Field Perturbations and identification of correction actions. Support to ESA projects for EMC and magnetic cleanliness. Support DC magnetic measurements in the Magnetic Coil facility. This position is full time located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is January 2017. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters degree in Physics andor Electrical Engineering Experience in DC magnetics and EMC in general with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience ideally acquired in the space industry Expertise in EMC analysis and testing, expertise in defining and validating algorithms for data processing, industrial experience is an asset min. 1 year Familiarity with software tools for data post processing e.g. Matlab Teamwork but also the ability to work independently.
