Embedded Software Engineer Deadline for applications ASAP Job Description We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer on behalf of our client for their location near Stuttgart, Germany. Thales Alenia Space Deutschland TASD develops a newest generation Software Defined Radio SDR to be used as communications payload on small and nano satellites. This SDR shall be used for a variety of different missions in the scope of the Internet of the Things IOT. For the SDR payload development, we use several hardware platforms, including microcontrollers with ARMbased processors, and also the newest generation of multiprocessor system on chip MPSOC, containing a FPGA and several ARM processors. This scope of this position is the area of software development for the SDR payload, supporting the different projects and activities of TASD in this domain. The successful applicant will be employed by ATG Europe and not by our Client. The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to Tasks and Responsibilities Understanding of the payload functions and analysis of system technical requirements in order to determine the software specification, the design, the interfaces, and the verification concept Technical planning of the software development aligned with the payload development. Estimation and conduction of the SW development activities Software implementation in CC Integration of the solution at system level, including Hardware, Software and Firmware components Verification and Validation of the solution, including functional and performance tests Support for test activities at system level, including testbeds inthefield if applicable Analysis and correction of anomalies raised Contribution to the software documentation of the product. Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with focus on Embedded Systems Experience in programming in CC Experience in software development for embedded systems, including embedded software architecture, implementation and verification Experience with operating systems for embedded systems, including Embedded Linux distributions ideally Petalinux and realtime operating systems ideally FreeRTOS Experience with ARM Cortex based processor architectures ideally M4, and System onChip architectures with FPGAprocessor ideally Xilinx Ultrascale MPSOC Experience with Opensource Compliance Experience with Operationtesting on headless HW platforms Good understanding of hardware limitations, constraints, functionality incl. FPGA KnowledgeExperience with AI algorithms and frameworks Low level programming including assembler would be a plus Robust programming in mission critical systems would be a plus Familiarity with technical challenges of a space system, TMTC protocols, or concepts to improve the reliability in a harsh environment, would be a plus Experience with KeilMDK software development environment would be a plus Experience with Xilinx Development Toolchain Vivado, XSDK would be a plus Interested in space systems and open to new technologies and concepts Good command of English and willingness to work in an international team.
