ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY SES are shortly launching a brandnew constellation of satellites called O3b mPOWER and we are recruiting a Gateway Infrastructure Engineer to train on our new systems so they can provide unrivalled handson technical support to our clients across the globe. mPOWER is a groundbreaking cloud enabled satellite constellation in a medium earth orbit enabling connectivity across the globe for our diverse portfolio of clients. The Gateway Infrastructure Engineer will love travelling up to 75 and will be responsible for installing and commissioning satellite communications equipment across the globe, with a primary focus on EMEA. The Gateway Infrastructure Engineer will be part of the Gateway Infrastructure Team, which plays a large part in the continued operational support and maintenance activities involved in keeping SES Networks customers in service. Significant time will be spent producing site survey and post installation reports for gateways and Tier1 customer terminals. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Maintain Ground System with a clear focus on SES Networks EMEA Gateway stations Perform Preventative Maintenance on Ground System Install and configure Ground System terminals, baseband and network systems Provide Engineering support in the testing, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of the Ground Infrastructure at SES Networks and Customer facilities in the region Work remotely or locally with site personnel on problem identification and resolution, perform root cause analysis, and support logistics functions for defective parts return and repair by vendors Assist in quick resolution and stabilization of complex Satellite and Ground System Assist in data analysis, anomaly evaluation and reporting Develop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies and procedures Install and commissioning of SES Networks customer terminals Attend scheduled and unscheduled customer maintenance activities Maintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operations Responsible to create and maintain up to date installation documentation for assigned sites Provide Ground Systems support to Satellite Operations Center, Spacecraft Payload Engineers and other functions For next generation topics mPOWER, SES17 and Microsoft EOS, provide input into concept of operations strategy, site and system management, and 3rd party vendor selection and management.
