Our technical excellence and extensive prime contractorship experience extend across all sectors of the space business launch vehicles, manned space activities, satellite systems and related services. Within the Ground Segment, Engineering Product and Operations department based in Toulouse, you will define, perform and maintain software products with high added value allowing for the optimised design, validation and operation of telecommunication satellite payloads. These products combine object development and an indepth knowledge of the field and of powerful algorithms. The selected candidate will contribute, to begin with, to the development of different products, e.g. SATELLITE SIZING TOOL assisted designvalidation, SWITCHCONF operations, OPTOOL analysis of performances, used by Astrium teams in France and the UK and, for certain of these, delivered to international customers. You will analyse customer needs, define and perform revisions, and provide support to entry into service in France and the UK. You will quickly progress towards taking responsibility for one or several products. Your creativity will allow you to be highly effective in proposing changes and in the definition of the product roadmap. Business trips within France and abroad are to be expected. Necessary knowledge of disciplines and a demanding technical environment will allow you to fully demonstrate your IT and interpersonal skills in a field in high growth and at the core of Astrium processes. The selected candidate will be responsible in the short or mediumterm for the following activities Performing technical and feasibility analysis of customer needs Establishing financial and technical proposals Specifying, designing, coding, and validating changes requested by the customer Integrating and validating the IT system Drafting operational documentation Integrating certain products into the control centres Performing customer support Proposing a change roadmap based on an indepth knowledge of customers and their disciplines Reporting to the customer and management Implementing applicable quality reference documentation Managing an additional development team if necessary You have an engineering degree or university equivalent 5year qualification or a PhD 8year qualification, in the field of IT andor satellite telecommunications or in the field of telecommunication payloads. You have at least an initial operational experience in the industrial sector, working on the following topics IT software development specification, design, production and validation Object design UML, Java, C in Linux and Windows XP and 7 environment Distributed architecture and interprocess communication Good basic knowledge of algorithms and an interest in telecommunication fields RF, thermal, etc. would be a real plus. An advanced level of English and negotiation level of French are required for this position.
