We are looking for an Engineering Support for Incentive Scheme E3 to join our Modis Aerospace team, working onsite at the European Space Agency in the Netherlands. Modis Aerospace is a specialized Engineering consultancy with more than 30 years experience providing aerospace Engineers to our key partners in The Netherlands. Modis is a longstanding business partner of the European Space Agency ESA, with more than 120 employees recruited from across Europe currently supporting ESAs activities. Specific tasks to be performed Supporting the focal points of one or more European Cooperating States ECS for the preparation, initiation and implementation of the relevant actions pertinent to each State and associated measures. These will include assistance in the review of proposals, preparation of TEB reports, follow up of contract status and deliverables and the preparation of presentations Supporting Associate Member States, ensuring they are informed of internal ESA processes and opportunities, coordinating with other programs, supporting training courses and arranging country specific events Supporting studies and surveys and maintaining databases of NMSECSAS capabilities for their relevance to ESA programmes Supporting ESA training initiatives in NMS, ECS and AS Supporting the assessment of the industrial and academic capabilities and competences in ECS and AS Acting as Technical Officer for the running of small activities in ECS and AS The work involves addressing several application and technology domains and implies numerous interfaces with Staff across all ESA Directorates and with entities from the NMS, ECS and AS. Participating actively in the Division meetings To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required University degree MSc from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Engineering preferably space related or Science, Familiarity and experience in the RD area and technology development processes, in particular in the space sector, is a distinctive advantage. Knowledge andor experience of the different ESA Programmes and European space industry as well as ESAs internal processes will be a strong asset. Knowledge of ProgrammeProject management and controlling methods and tools. Autonomy, authority and ability to interface with ESA staff at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communications. Rigor, commitment and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks. Proactive attitude to solving problems, identify priority actions and to handle high workload. Strong work ethic and willingness to travel Familiarity with modern electronics office automation tools e.g. Microsoft Office suite. Interviews for this role will take place between 1st and 9th of August 2019. About ESAESTEC The European Space Agency ESA has sites in several European countries. The European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC is the largest site and the technical heart of ESA. This nursery of European space activities is located in Noordwijk, Netherlands. At ESTEC, about 2500 engineers, technicians and scientists work handson with mission design, spacecraft and space technology. Almost all ESA projects except launchers are managed from ESTEC. In Noordwijk, people work on science missions, manned space missions, Earth observation, telecommunications and navigation satellites. ESTEC provides extensive testing facilities to verify the proper operation of spacecraft, such as the Large Space Simulator LSS, acoustic and electromagnetic testing bays, multiaxis vibration tables and the ESA Propulsion Laboratory EPL.
