REDU SPACE SERVICES FOR ESA EDUCATION OFFICE, ESECGALAXIA, TRANSINNE Redu Space services RSS has a vacancy for Engineering Support in ESA Education Office, Strategy Department, Director Generals Services. LOCATION ESECGalaxia, Transinne Belgium. BACKGROUND The ESA Education Office has the objective to use space as a theme to enhance the literacy of young people in science and technology and to motivate young Europeans to pursue a space related career. The Office personnel is based partially at the ESA Research and Technology Centre ESTEC in The Netherlands, and partially at the ESECGalaxia in Transinne, Belgium. In support of achieving its educational objectives, the Office offers In the frame of the ESA Academy, the programme for university students 1. A portfolio of training courses, in all areas of ESAs expertise, delivered at the Training and Learning Facility. Training courses topics cover amongst others Space System Engineering, Product Assurance and Safety, Human Space Physiology, Spacecraft Operations and Communications, Gravityrelated Research, Concurrent Design Engineering, CubeSat Design, Space Law, Technology Transfer and Innovation. 2. Support to handson spacerelated project opportunities in particular CubeSat mission design, satellite assembly and tests campaigns. As part of the STEM programme for primary and secondary school teachers, the etechnology lab, a didactic laboratory, offers direct handson experience by using space robotics and space science as learning and teaching contexts. DUTIES Under the supervision of the Head of ESA Academy Unit, the postholder will offer engineering and coordination support for the development of new training sessions for university students in the different fields of ESA expertise, from training sessions design and development to evaluation of the training sessions and analysis of students and trainers feedback to propose improvements. Prospection for future training sessions, as well as provide support for the ongoing training sessions. Services include list not exhaustive the support to the Training and Learning Programme, through Definition of training session objectives, structure, sequence and search for experts to given lecturesexercises when necessary Definition of training session format, participants profile and delivery method Definition of the training session development planning Liaise with the experts and monitor training material development, aiming at ensuring the implementation of a visual identity, format, and teaching methods as far as practically possible common to all coursestraining material of the Training and Learning Programme Review proposed lectures and exercises and propose possible improvements Organise, prepare and conduct 1day dryruns to verify training session objectives, format and sequence as well as ensure good transmission of key messages to the target audience Support the selection of the participating students Assist, as required, in the organisation and delivery of training courses Offer some lectures and workshops in own fields of expertise Analysis of experts and students feedback Coordinate the update of training format and training material as needed Contribute to the improvement of the training session development process Contribute to promoting the programme of educational opportunities and activities carried out by the ESA Education Office. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent qualification in engineering, with significant experience in spacerelated projects. Teaching experience at University level would be an asset. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong interest in education activities in the field of science and technology in general. Previous experience in developing training sessions or educational projects or teaching would be an asset. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate good organisational and reporting skills as well as a proactive attitude to problemsolving. They should be capable of coordinating multiple projects and provide engineering support. They must demonstrate an ability to communicate and cooperate efficiently, to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of ESA staff at different levels as well as with representatives of academia, industry and ESAs international partners. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required together with a working knowledge of the other. CLOSING DATE 25052019.
