Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for a Flight Dynamics Engineer fm. Tasks The Engineer will Support the Sentinels Flight Dynamics Team CopernicusSentinels Operations Teams. The main area of responsibility is Flight Dynamics Operations Engineering, primarily but not exclusively, on the following subdomains Orbit determination and Prediction Systems Orbit control and manoeuvre optimisation Systems Mission Analysis Systems The areas covered are Support the Flight Dynamics Operations in routine and special operations including LEOP and deorbiting of the assigned Sentinels Missions, and provide expertise on those areas to any other Sentinels when required Sentinels Flight Dynamics software exploitation, operation and maintenance, including development of tools e.g. scripts, etc to operate such systems Support to Sentinels launch campaigns FD system tests, simulations to prepare and validate operational support Oncall, and eventually call in, support to support potential collision avoidance manoeuvres Generic flight dynamics support to other Sentinels Ground segment systems and teams FCT, SIM officer, ground stations, Essential requirements Required background in mathematics, mechanics and dynamics Mature problem solving skills Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Familiarity with operational training Familiarity with FD systems Familiarity with programmingscripting languages Desirable requirements Previous experience in ESOC FD in the specified subdomains Familiarity with programmingscripting languages Familiarity with ESOC FD infrastructure software used for Earth Observation missions Experience working with operational missions in orbit determination and control, and particular previous experience with CopernicusSentinels missions Experience in working in an operational environment Familiarity with FORTRAN programming language Experience in operational training Familiarity with the ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Knowledge of flight dynamics operations on EO satellites Experience with prelaunch activities and launch campaigns of satellites Familiarity with effective teamwork principles and team building aspects Other Information Start date 01.01.2016 Fluency in English is mandatory
