It has now been over 30 years that comprehensive CS solutions for space systems and applications, both on the ground and in space, have been part and parcel of this odyssey. Our German activities grow at fast pace and to face our customers high level expectations and needs, we are looking for talented profiles with relevant experience in Space systems. We are looking for a Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer to be based at our clients site ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. You will have responsibility mainly in the area of Command Generation but you may be required to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional service, missions and activities within the scope of general Flight Dynamics operations engineering. You will be providing support primarily to the BIOMASS mission, which is in preparation and expected to be launched in 2022. You may also be needed to support other Earth Explorers missions SWARM, CRYOSAT2, Aeolus and CLUSTERII, which are currently in routine operations. Your tasks will be depending on the subsystem and phase of the mission Command Generation Execution of and support to operational tasks, in the context of command generation Generation of task related command parameters Generation of task related reports Flight Dynamics Application Layer Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer Flight Dynamics System Development Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Participation in tests Setup procedures Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration Coordination of internal and external interfaces and activities across subsystems This position also includes an element of on call working. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics Experience in developing solutions to technical mathematical and dynamical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions using e.g. Linux scripting languages, Fortran 90 and C The ability to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Ability to coordinate and interact with team member in operations and other fields as well as the ability to work independently It would also be helpful to your application if you can demonstrate Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarityexperience with Flight Dynamics operations engineering tasks Experience dealing with external interfaces Experience with Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously.
