Terma Space operates out of Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, and the UK. Job description For our customer, ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced Flight Dynamics Engineer. Responsibilities The primary area of responsibility is primarily but not exclusively Test and Validation The areas covered are Support the Flight Dynamics Operations within Sentinels team, routine and special operations including LEOP and deorbiting Sentinels Flight Dynamics software exploitation, operation and maintenance Support to Sentinels launch campaigns FD system tests, simulations to prepare and validate operational support Oncall, and eventually call in, support to support potential collision avoidance manoeuvres Generic flight dynamics support to other Sentinels Ground segment systems and teams FCT, SIM officer, ground stations, This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in January 2017. You will be nominally based at ESOCs facilities in Darmstadt, Germany, but travel within Europe may be required for certain activities. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have an university degree, in mathematics, mechanics andor dynamics, or other suitable qualification. Essential skills are Previous experience in ESOC FD in the specified subdomains Knowledge of ESOC FD infrastructure SW to be used for Sentinels Mature problem solving skills Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Experience with operational training Familiarity with FD systems Familiarity with programmingscripting languages, its operation, exploitation and maintenance Experience working with operational missions in Test and Validation area and in particular previous experience with CopernicusSentinels missions Excellent oral and written communication in English The following experience would be an additional asset Experience in working in an operational environment Familiarity with FORTRAN programming language Familiarity with the ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Experience with prelaunch activities and launch campaigns of satellites Familiarity with effective teamwork principles and team building aspects The tasks to be performed require considerable initiative, flexibility and independence in executing the assigned tasks.
