Fremont: Man, 74, stole $500,000 through fake real estate investments, police say

Police arrested a 74-year-old real estate agent last week on suspicion of elder financial abuse and grand theft, saying he had taken at least $500,000 from about 20 victims. Fremont resident Jeremiah Bishop advertised himself to potential victims as a commercial real estate investor with a partner, police said.
