We are currently looking for a GNC Engineerto support our customer in the Netherlands. GNC Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities You will be working in the Navigation, Guidance and Control Sectionat ESAESTEC andhave the following responsibilities Responsible for all control engineering activities relating to the Lisa Pathfinder Project up to the inorbit commissioning review Supervising the design and implementation of the Dragfree Attitude Control System DFACS and AOCS subsystems Supervising the verification of DFACS in particular performed by Industry, incl. the test planning, test procedure development, test execution and analysis of test results as well as taking part in nonconformance review boards Monitoring the schedule of DFACS verification onground and inorbit commissioning Supervising the DFACS user manual prepared by Industry for correctness Supervising the inorbit commissioning of DFACS performed by Industry Liaison with STOC and MOC for the preparations of handover of the SC after inorbit commissioning for the DFACS. This involves following science operations simulations before launch and assessing nonconformant observations raised during such simulations for impact on DFACS Verification of the DFACS and science performance. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in aerospace engineering or another relevant discipline An extensive insight and good experience in control engineering and verification of complex control systems Strong interpersonal and good communication skills Ability to work in a team as well as independently Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
