Ground Segment System Engineering Team Leader for Operational Systems

An exciting vacancy has just been released at Europes Meteorological Satellite Agency EUMETSAT for an experienced System Engineer to join the division, managing a team of 46 engineers. This is a challenging and rewarding position based in a dynamic environment surrounded by industry experts. The successful candidate shall get the opportunity to grow and develop the role whilst supporting the evolution of new technology. They shall have the ability to directly drive change whilst expanding the team and supporting new missions. This is a team leader role offering responsibility and variation, therefore candidates require good interpersonal skills and the ability to delegate and set objectives. Along with a University degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, candidates require skillsexperience in each of the following areas Solid experience in the engineering and maintenance of operational ground segments systems, preferably for remote sensing spacecrafts, along with direct experience in IVV for operational ground systems operated in a 247 environment Proven experience in leading, coordinating and developing system engineering teams during the operational phase of ground segments i.e. covering ground segment maintenance and evolutions and interfacing with stakeholders and industrial partners Proficiency and experience in the definition and implementation of engineering processes for sustaining, maintaining and evolving operational ground systems Knowledge of standards relevant for system engineering and formal methods for system specification e.g. ECSS as well as experience in the use of related productstools Strong interpersonal, leadership and communications skills, and preferably experience operating within a matrix environment. All applicants must have a good working knowledge of English, both spoken and written. Some knowledge of French would be considered advantageous.
