Callisto is seeking to recruit an OpticalElectroOptical communications engineer experienced in Optical Ground Stations to join a team of engineers working in Darmstadt Germany. Tasks The primary areas of responsibility for this position are Optical Ground Station Definition of requirements Development and procurement Validation and deployment Other areas of expertise, which would be a distinct advantage, include RF subsystems used in the ground station environment Frequency and timing subsystems atomic and optical clocks Support integration and deployment of new ground station equipment Engineering support to integration, testing, maintenance and operations of ground station Qualifications and Requirements Applicants require a degree in Physics or OpticalElectroOptical Engineering. Essential Opticaltelescope system design and modelling Optical characterisation . Optical systems assembly and integration Conversant with ECSS and CCSDS practices Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Able to work independently Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Desirable Familiarity with ground station RF subsystems Familiarity with image and signal processing techniques . Familiarity with frequency and timing subsystems Familiarity with ground station remote monitoring and control. We are seeking employees who are motivated and flexible and who are available to start work in Germany in January 2016.
