Our German activities grow at fast pace and to face our costumers high level expectations and needs, we are looking for talented profiles having relevant experience in Space systems The Engineer shall work in the SEP Division of the TSS Department as a member of the Ground Stations team, sharing the duty according to the work load, so he will be expected to have and maintain a Systemwide view of the various Ground Stations. The post is required to support the Ground Stations engineering related activities of future ground segments mainly EPSSG and Jason CS .The post will also provide engineering support of the existing MTP, MSG, EPS programmes. The activity is assumed, as a baseline, to require a fulltime participation of one Engineer for the duration of the contract. The tasks of the Engineer will be carried out mainly at EUMETSAT Head Quarter facilities in Darmstadt, but travel to Ground Stations and backup centres located within Europe, may be required for certain activities. PROFILE The Engineer shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks. Heshe shall have, as a prerequisite, a demonstrated experience in a similar function for at least 5 years. This experience shall include in particular Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations Technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for LEO and GEO satellites ACU and receivers inclusive Knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards. In addition, the knowledge and experience of the following processesareas is considered as an asset from the definition phase through the traceability, verification, validation and maintenance stages using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORs Design and requirements engineering of large and complex Earth Observation related ground stations Usage of High Data Rate Demodulators System experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band. Standard RF and microwave tools and SW package for generation of signal processing related simulations andor semiautomated measurement procedures . The Engineer shall be in possession of sound organisational and interpersonal skills to conduct the responsibilities described above autonomously and with a minimum level of supervision, exhibiting good oral and written communications skills, analytical capabilities, and motivation. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the keyperson must be able to work effectively in this language. TASKS EXPERIENCE The engineer shall support the activities of ground segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. In doing this, the engineer shall support Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications mainly for supporting EPSSG and JasonCS activities The follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications The maintenance and evolution in phase E to the other programmes within EUMETSAT MSG, EPS, Jason, ,.. in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations, The engineer will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team and will report directly to the SEP Ground Stations Engineering Team Leader. However when working in a given programme, the engineer shall report also within the established programme structure. In the performance of these tasks, the engineer shall apply the relevant organisational and programmatic quality management procedures as well as the relevant ground stations system engineering standards.
