Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. For the location in Darmstadt, Germany we are looking for a Ground Station System Engineer fm at Eumetsat. Tasks The consultant shall support the activites of Ground Segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. In doing this the consultant shall support Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of Stations, RF and Telecommunications The follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications The maintenance and evolution in Phase E to other programmes within EUMETSAT MSG, MTG, EPS, Jason2 in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications Participation of the day to day activities in the STC Lab managed within EUMETSAT supporting systems simulations and analysis as well as small applications developments, based mainly on Matlab and LabView e.g. tailored Remote Spectrum Analyser MMIs. The consultant will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team and will report directly to the SEP Ground Stations Engineering Team Leader, however when working in a given programme, the consultant shall report also within the established programme structure. In the performance of these tasks, the consultant shall apply the relevant organisational and programmatic quality management procedures as well as the relevant ground stations system engineering standards. Essential requirements The Consultant shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. Heshe shall have, as a prerequisite a demonstrated experience in a similar function of at least 5 years. This experience shall include in particular Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC, mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations Technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for LEO and GEO satellites ACU and receivers inclusive Knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transition e.g. ECSS and CCSDS standards Desirable Skills In addition, the knowledge and experience of the following processesareas is considered as an asset Design and requirements engineering of large and complex Earth Observation related ground stations e.g. MSG PGS or EPS CDAs Usage of High Data Rate Demodulators System experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band. Standard RF and microwave tools and SW package for generation of signal processing related simulations andor semiauotmated measurement procedures for complementing the capabilities of the STC Lab. The Consultant shall be in possession of sound management and interpersonal skills to conduct the responsibilities described above autonomously and with a minimum level of supervision, exhibiting good oral and written communications skills, analytical capabilities, and motivation.
