Group Lead Hosting IT Service Engineer

Your Mission The DLR GfR GmbH has the hosting responsibility for the ground controlcentre Oberpfaffenhofen of the global Galileo Navigation System. The ITdepartment is a key enabler for all delivered ITservices. Within ITDepartment the GfRIT group is responsible for Galileohosting and GfR related services. We design and operate the ITinfrastructure for the several Galileosupportservices and support the company with special projects. We are seeking your support as group lead in the Galileo Control Center GCCD in Oberpfaffenhofen. As head of the team you will contribute to the regular reporting, support milestones and organize the internal project and time management. The system environment you will work on is constantly evolving and driven by the needs of a complex and demanding project business. Responsibilities You enable your team to provide excellent support for GfRs hosting and special projects. You take in a key position between users, decisionmakers, suppliers and your team. You are responsible for the organization of your team and the coordination with the ongoing project. You support the setup of new ITservices with technical knowhow and contribute to the developmentprocess with knowledge, experience and leadership. You provide internal ITconsultancy to other groups about best practice in IToperations and systemdesign. You support your teamcolleagues during critical activities and with oncall service You drive the evolution of processes and policies within a customized ITIL and agile framework Contribution to the IT concept and processes, including the development of maintenance implementation plans You assist the planning and coordination of GCCmaintenance activities. You will work closely together with the head of department, IThostingsecurity and other maintenanceteams You followupsupport reviews, milestones and project meetings. You prepare reports as required You provide inputs to the releasestrategy for minor and major evolutionsteps of the GCC infrastructure Skill Requirements You show great interest in personal growth and development Universitydegree in computerscience, ITsystemengineering and management or an equal qualification. Minimum 10 years of professional experience. Structured working approach and ideally first experience with leading a team. Experience organizer who prioritize even in demanding situations You have a clear understanding of your personal values and demonstrate them as teamlead as well. You have very good communication skills and the ability to keep calm also in demanding situations. You provide hands on experience in the configuration of IT infrastructure and servers Experience in supporting ITpolicydesign Experience in writing technical concepts Experience in ITsystemdesign and ITSM with ITIL You are a generalist with solid handson experience on several Linux distributions and Windows based infrastructure You are comfortable using scripting languages and are able to analyze software implementation needs You have knowledge in networkdesign and firewall technology You are able to coordinate complex tasks over team boundaries Interested in new and exciting things, interested in constant learning You are willing and able to travel for trainings and workshops, also on short notice An advanced level of English is mandatory
