When Greensboro-based RF Micro and TrIQuint of Hillsboro, OR announced recently they will be called "Qorvo" when their merger is completed, the companies became part of a long and time-honored tradition among businesses: making up their own words. Qorvo is something employees at RF Micro: and TriQuint helped develop.
