Herhold: Things are looking better for the old Hart's sign

For a couple of years now, I've been worrying about the fate of one of San Jose's irreplaceable landmarks -- the old Hart's department store sign painted on the back of an industrial building near the Union Pacific tracks just north of downtown. Visible from the Guadalupe Freeway as you drive south into downtown, the old Hart's sign is scarcely recognizable anymore.
