US - Retail pork prices set new record highs in August for the second consecutive month. The average price of pork in grocery stores during August was $3.757 per pound. That was up 23.1 cents from August 2012 and up 12.7 cents from the record set the month before. For the third month in a row, retail boneless ham prices are higher than boneless pork chop prices, a historical rarity, write Ron Plain and Scott Brown.
