(Telecompaper) Huawei is planning to launch in the US in the second quarter a smartphone running both Android and Windows Mobile OS. In an interview with the site TrustedReviews, Huawei's Chief Marketing Officer Shao Yang said the move should make it easier for consumers to choose a Windows phone. While Android remains the priority for the Chinese manufacturer, Yang said the company remains committed to a multi-OS strategy. He said the company is also looking at other platforms, but did not provide any specifics. It was still "not very clear" whether it would pursue a Tizen device, he added.
