Terma Space operates out of Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, and the UK. Job description For our customer, ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced IT Architect. Your area of responsibilities will be focused on tasks sustaining existing investment activities of IT systems within the Mission Operations Infrastructure Information Technology MOIIT as well as implementing new activities within the domain. Responsibilities It is expected that you focus on how to design and build complex IT systems over their life cycles. At its core systems engineering utilizes systems thinking principles to organize this body of knowledge. Issues such as requirements engineering, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, testing and evaluation, maintainability and many other disciplines necessary for successful system development, design, implementation, and ultimate decommission become more difficult when dealing with large or complex projects. Systems engineering deals with workprocesses, optimization methods, and risk management tools in such projects. This is a fulltime position as a Terma employee for placement at ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany, starting on 1st October 2017. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have a Master degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline, or other suitable qualification. Essential Skills are Good technical understanding of IT enterprise grade IT systems and services, especially on Intel X86, Oracle T4T5 with Solaris Virtualization VMaware, enterprise grade storage NetApp, EMC2 and software defined network Automation puppet, cheff, openstack, etc Enterprise IT backup architectures Database architectures Thin clients Cisco networks and Wan connectivity based on MPLS Cisco ASA firewalls and Security infrastructures IDS, penetration test General IT Management infrastructure DNS, centralised logs, etc Excellent project management skills. Qualifications on Price2 and Agile. Being able to analyse requirements and constrains, define an approach to the activity, follow up the project progress, establish deadlines and anticipate project risks and potential delays Good communication skills, as the service team members shall interact with multiple interfaces and collect requirements and desires. The service team member shall be able to condense information into requirements and communicate effectively with all MOIIT Interfaces. You shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan your work and cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. You shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important. You shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. As necessary you will be located offsite with access to ESOC technical facilities.
