Inflation rates are falling in most apparel exporting countries, as a clear sign that economic activity is slowing down over the pandemic. Deflationary threats could hurt emerging countries, with Turkey confronted with a risky rebound in its inflation rate, however. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. The impact of currency changes vs. the US dollar, the euro, and the Sterling is also calculated to assess real terms of trade for exporters.
