We are currently looking for an Instrument Data Processing Algorithms Software Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Instrument Data Processing Algorithms Software Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Developing an expert knowledge of the MSG Image Processing System Investigating anomalies in the MSG Image Processing System Specifying modifications to the MSG Image Processing System Implementing, verifying and validating modifications to the MSG Image Processing System Updating the design and user documentation for the MSG Image Processing System Reviewing, analysing and anomaly investigation of MTG and EPSSG instrument data processing software from procurements Supporting the integration, verification and validation of MTG and EPSSG instrument data processing deliveries Supporting the development of a MTG reference processor Prototyping selected instrument data processing algorithms. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in aerospace engineering or other relevant discipline Strong mathematical skills and several years recent experience in implementation of numerical algorithms, Objectoriented system design and C programming and UNIX Experience with some of the following would be an asset Realtime image processing of large volumes of data Geometric correction navigation registration of satellite images Radiometric correction calibration of satellite images Performance optimisation of algorithms IDL or MATLAB Integration, verification, and validation of realtime data processing systems Familiarity with ECSS standards Excellent organisational and communication skills Fluency in English is mandatory.
