Tasks and Activities Your primary tasks and activities may include Providing support to the operations of the clients web services. Supporting maintenance of the web application based data services. Providing support to the procurement of hardware and software, and the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. Maintenance of the data services systems Performing the acceptance and integration of externally developed software Performing unit and nonregression testing Evolution of the web application services Analysing user requirements to derive software evolutions and enhancements, Specifying software and system requirements for supporting software and system enhancements, Designing software and systems evolutionsenhancements, Supporting the integration, verification and validation testing, Generation and maintaining technical documentation Operational Support for web application services Monitoring the performance and behavior, Investigating problems and raising anomalies, Providing Second Line System and Software support, Supportingexecuting operations and maintenance procedures change controldeployment processes, Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline At least 5 years experience in Java programming language, Java Web based development SpringMVC, GWT in TomcatJetty HTML5CSS3Javascript jquery, bootstrap Oracle JDBC, SQL and PLSQL XML, XML Schema and XSLT technologies Software Source Code control system SubVersionUnit testing frameworks JUnitEclipse. At least 5 years of experience in each of the following areas System Engineering Maintenance Skills Software development and maintenance. This includes requirements management, software design and implementation reflecting corrections and evolutions of software components. Designing and developing software components and applications in the Java programming language under Unix Linux using Object Oriented OO approach including design patterns for web portals. Designing and developing web based front ends using HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript and in particular popular libraries used in the Javascript eco system. Experience in developing web based applications relying on a database backend RDBMS or NoSQL. Extensive experience in the provision of second line support for operational systems, which includes the monitoring of the performance, problem investigation, coordination of resolutions and oncall support. Documentation and Software Configuration Management Skills The following skills would be highly desirable. Development of GIS systems allowing rendering scientific data and making those available using GIS standards such as WMS, WCS, WFS. Experience in integrating and deploying by developing glue software components COTS or open source components transforming, rendering or making use of geospatial or GIS products and especially satellite or meteorological products. Technology skills OGC Standards such as CSW, WMS, WCS, WFS, GeoNetwork, Javascript GIS library OpenLayers, Leaflet, ScientificGIS data formats NETcdf, HDF5, geoTiff, Meteorological data formats GRIB, BUFR, Toolbased Software Design UML Enterprise Architect Basic UnixLinux system administration.
