The Position This position is based at our Headquarter in Darmstadt. It is fulltime and permanent and expected starting date will be July 2021. Do what you love as a Software Engineer! As part of our multinational team, you will be designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and reliable Java code for a sophisticated software environment in the space domain. The position includes developing powerful graphical applications based on the Eclipse RCP platform as well as contributing with modern approaches to incorporating scripting into the SIMULUS Simulation Infrastructure. You will be part of a team with excellent expertise in both software development as well as the space domain, where you will have the opportunity to grow your career. You will provide new features, efficiently solve bugs, and iterate with the customer, understanding and anticipating to their needs. You will help maintaining the code quality, organization, and automation. You will work with open source frameworks from the European Space Agency, collaborating with its community with improvements and suggestions. Show us what you have as a Java Developer! You have a strong proficiency in Java, with fair knowledge of the corresponding language specifications and with shown experience. You know how to use the standard library and its containers. You know object orientation, and can understand class diagrams in UML. You have experience with the Eclipse RCP framework. You are familiar with development tools such as debuggers, profilers, and tracing utilities. You are excellent at problem solving, with a logical and pragmatic demeanour.
