For our customer, DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, we are seeking an L1 Maintenance Engineer to support the Galileo Operations Project. Responsibilities The general activities are Providing regular Level 1 preventive and corrective maintenance on the Galileo elements including hardware maintenance and preventive software maintenance software corrective maintenance Formally logging maintenance interventions raising and processing tickets in the Galileo ILS tool Cooperating with the next level of maintenance L2, escalating incidents and supporting their resolution. Troubleshoot technical issues encountered by operators or found during the maintenance activities. Contribution to develop and update the needed procedures for your activities. Review new technical documentation and test new system installations, raising any anomaly according to the required formal process. Manage user accounts according to the IT security guidelines. Participating to meetings, communicating with the costumer, the external service providers, and the industrial partners. Cooperate with CSF, SIO in the resolution of the security investigation In addition, the L1 Maintenance Engineer will be required to perform oncall duties as part of the maintenance team. Details of the actual oncall service shall be agreed between DLR and the service provider. This is a fulltime position to be located at DLRs premises in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, with the planned start date being midMarch 2021 or ASAP thereafter. Qualifications Competencies In addition to having a university degree in a relevant field, you shall meet the following requirements Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems and the Linux command line. Knowledge of shell scripting Willingness to learn and work on maintenance activities in different areas, both for software and hardware. Availability to travel when it is required Willingness to provide oncall service Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Passing the 2 Security Clearance upon starting work at Galileo Control Center You will be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, able to work calmly and accurately under stress and able to work without supervision.
