Ambitious Space Company is looking for a Lead Spacecraft Engineer for our Virginia office Join the US team in a rapidly growing international satellite company! We are looking for a Lead Spacecraft Engineer with experience in mission and spacecraft systems design for advanced satellite platforms. You will have the opportunity to become part of an internationally oriented and dedicated team aiming at providing exceptional Nanosatellite solutions to customers on the global market. Position Summary The Lead Spacecraft engineer will have responsibility for overall spacecraft design and mission architecture for customer projects, as well as customer training. The successful candidate must be experienced in all aspects of spacecraft development including requirements definition, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation. The lead spacecraft engineer will be responsible for full mission solutions from concept development to flight hardware and mission support. Interactions with external suppliers and customers will require the engineer to have excellent written and verbal communications skills. Coordination with engineering team in Denmark will be required. Some travel both within the US and internationally may be required. Responsibilities Develop the systems architecture and satellite design Coordinate the technical activities with the customers and suppliers to ensure successful missions Be the technical key and go to person for specific satellite projects Prepare documentation according to applied space engineering standards Set up the engineering lab and perform some handson spacecraft assembly tasks Supervision of satellite integration and verification Required Qualifications 10 years of work experience in systems engineering or system architecture for spacecraft systems Experience in CAD systems Solid Works or similar and simulation tools Knowledge of mechanical, software and hardware development and planning tools Knowledge of multiple subsystems such as command and data handling, power management and distribution, optical communication payloads, propulsions and structures Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field from an accredited university Given the nature of the work, applicant must be a US Person as defined by US ITAR and EAR regulations Desired Qualifications Experience with nanosatellites andor communication satellites Experience in satellite mission design, including constellation architectures Experience working in a startup environment Experience in writing technical proposals Ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance GomSpace offers employment in a dynamic growing and internationally oriented company with many challenging and exciting activities.
