Incorporating linear stepper motor along with 1 micron resolution linear encoder, LSS-060-04-006-ME has stroke of 60 in. and generates 6 lb of continuous force. Moving stepper forcer suits applications with acceleration from 0.5–1.5 m/sec and payloads of <1 kg. While operation is possible under open loop control using 2-phase microstepping driver, stage can also be operated under closed-loop using linear encoder and motion control electronics package.
