It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Maintenance Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Oakhanger. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Integrated as part of Airbus Defence and Space Land Systems Technical. Maintenance and Support Team ensuring all Technical Maintenance and Support processes and procedures are followed. Periodic and corrective maintenance at Level 1 to 3 for the complete range of remote terminals. This covers functional, software firmware upgrades and mechanical maintenance both at Oakhanger and at deployed platforms. Conducting Handover and Takeover activities at Airbus Defence and Space and customer premises. Ensuring detailed reports are compiled and released in accordance with designated metrics. Fault finding and functional testing of RF, Baseband and Management IT systems. Terminal Upgrades Mechanical, Software and firmware. Provide oncall out of hours telephone support 247 on a rota basis no more than a 1 week in 4, ensuring immediate response when a call is escalated. Onsite assistance to Remote Terminal Users as required UK and Worldwide. Capturing all activities conducted and ensuring all paperwork and fault reports are accurate and promptly within 48hrs completed and submitted. Review and update platform build and maintenance records, test documentation and End Item Data Packs. Maintain accurate records on the status and location of all Terminals and ancillary equipment. Production of accurate documentation for Airbus Defence and Space records and the Customer Terminal Data pack. Providing technical advice to external customers. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience HNC Electronics or Communication Engineering. Competent in the Setting up, Use and Maintenance of Mobile Terminals used at X, Ku, Ka band. Knowledge of the Skynet 5 network architecture would be beneficial. Knowledge of RF and digital data communications techniques and protocols. Handling Classified documentation and Cryptographic devices. Desirable CCNA certification. Desirable Experience of test and repair activities within a military environment or equivalent with any of the following engineering disciplines RF Systems X Band IT and an Network Engineering Baseband Systems IP and ATM. Good verbal and written communications Competent with MS Office Pro Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint, SAP.
