Manager, Spacecraft Programmes Electra Ref SES0809 Region Europe Location Germany Bremen Company SES Category Space Operations Position Staff Published 20160513 Context SES Techcom Services is a Luxembourgbased subsidiary of SES. Leveraging on the technical expertise accumulated within the Group by operating satellites for more than 30 years, it provides technical services to the Satellite Industry on a worldwide basis. The incumbent is responsible for the management of the ELECTRA satellite programme from the contract signature up to the satellite launch activities. Heshe will develop a long term partnership with OHB through trustworthy technical collaboration in identifying and resolving ELECTRA programmatic issues that could adversely impact SESs business. More generally heshe will contribute to the attraction of contracts by supporting the various request for proposal phases like proposal preparation, proposal handover, negotiation and contract setup and support the development of new technologies and innovations from EU suppliers. Responsibilities Responsible for the Programme Management of the ELECTRA satellite construction activities Accountable for meeting performance, quality as well as cost and time schedule Ensure ELECTRA meets high reliability and performance requirements with no major deviations or waivers from contract specification Maintain high level of visibility into contractor activities and identify any potential shortcoming that could impact spacecraft schedule Manage the ELECTRA Field Office Team at OHB Manage and negotiate any technical changes in the ELECTRA contracts Approval of milestone payments, RFDs and RFWs Actively encourage SC suppliers to bring innovative and cost efficient solutions to SES needs and grow SES reputation for technical excellence Use professional project management tools appropriated to followup, report and document project progress Travel as required for company promotion, project acquisition and project realization purposes Experience Qualifications A passionate worker committed to maintaining SES reputation for outstanding technical excellence and focused towards delivering the highest quality, reliable and innovative satellite that can meet our customers needs in the most effective way possible A high level of competency in all technical aspects of satellite procurement, integration and testing Ability to anticipate and mitigate risks, quickly react based on foreseen contingencies, face up to problems and immediately take actions to mediate the conflicts A high degree of integrity and high level of trust built on mutual respect with satellite manufactures Masters Degree in ElectricalMechanical Engineering or equivalent At least 10 years of professional experience in the space industry, preferably with some financial and commercial experience Management skills, interpersonal skills and effective communication skills with people at all levels of the organization Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of satellite design, assembly integration test, cost and schedule trades and programme management Our Offer Competitive salary package, coupled with a diverse array of challenges and development benefits.
