ACS is looking for a person to provide Meteorological Products Software Engineering Consultancy Support. Main tasks Analysis of product change proposals Design, implementation and validation of updatednew algorithms Documentation of changes related to product updates Preparation of technical notes on product implementation issues Development, maintenance and update of product generation monitoring software andthe corresponding database Monitoring and operating the product generation facilities Visualisation and analysis of geophysical products Mandatory University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, physics, mathematics or remote sensing minimum 5 years of experiencein operational product generation from satelliteremote sensing data experience in validation of geophysical products from satellite data is highly desirable Practical, demonstrable experience with Algorithm software development using FORTRAN 9095 IntelGNULinux andor IBMPOWERAIX environments Implementation of scientific algorithms from a given specification and their documentation Source code control systems Subversion andor git Anomaly correction processes Python and IDL programming languages Common meteorological data formats, i.e., BUFR, CAP, GRIB, HDF5, and netCDF Authoring clear and concise technical documentation EU national or valid work permit for Germany CV in Europass format Practical, demonstrable experience of the following will be advantageous Algorithm software development using CC programming language The operating systems GNULinux and AIX Relational databases using SQL
