Microsoft launches Nokia X2 with Android support

2014-06-24 10:21:00| Telecompaper Headlines

(Telecompaper) Microsoft has unveiled another phone in the Nokia X range of devices supporting Android apps. The Nokia X2 will launch in July, initially as a dual-Sim phone, for a recommended price of EUR 99. Targeting first-time and emerging market smartphone users, the X2 comes with a 4.3-inch screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1 GB RAM, a 5 megapixel rear camera and a range of Microsoft and third-party apps, including OneNote, Yammer, Line games, WeChat and Instagram. The phone features the new Nokia X Software Platform 2.0, offering a choice of three types of navigation screens: the colorful 'home' with resizable tiles, Fastlane to access recent apps and future calendar items, and a new Lumia-inspired apps list, from which people can pin items to the home screen. A pull-down notifications tab supports management of connectivity options and actionable items, such as software updates. The Nokia X2 features exchangeable back covers that come with a brightly colored core and a translucent outer layer, so the device appears lit from within. It will be available at launch in glossy orange, black and green, with glossy yellow, white and matte dark grey coming later.
