DEIMOS is selecting engineers to be integrated in the Mission Analysis and GNCAOCS Competence Centres of the Flight Systems Business Unit at our Romanian branch, to support new growth areas in atmospheric and exoatmospheric Mission Analysis and GNC. The work of the Mission Analysis and GNCAOCS Competence Centres is oriented to the Mission Analysis and Flight Mechanics of atmospheric vehicles and to the design, development, specification and validation of GNC and AOCS systems, for both atmospheric and exoatmospheric vehicles. As a matter of reference, DEIMOS activities cover Entry, descent and landing on planets Earth, Mars natural satellites Moon Launch vehicles Satellite formation flying, rendezvous, and active debris removal ADR Planetary observation Approach to planets asteroids and interplanetary Navigation Main Duties The following types of responsibilities are envisioned Development of novel MA and flight mechanics tools to support the Mission Engineering processes,GNC and AOCS solution concepts for aeronautical and aerospace vehicles e.g. launchers, suborbital and reentry vehicles, satellite rendezvous, active debris removal, Earth observation Design, implementation, specification and validation of GNC and AOCS systems Involvement in Mission Engineering and RD projects Participation in andor support of atmospheric MA, GNC and AOCS engineering programme activities Activities cover phases A,B,C, D E Education Required A recognized engineering degree Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic or a related degree e.g. Physics Desired Postgraduate studies M.Sc or Ph.D with a focus on aeronautical aerospace engineering and providing a solid background in at least two of the following Flight orbital dynamics Aerodynamics and flying qualities Simulation design, execution and analysis for atmospheric vehicles Monte Carlo, statistical processing GNC and AOCS designsynthesisanalysis Professional Experience Required Engineer with at least 1 year experience in the practical application of the domains relevant to the post relevant M.Sc PhD studies would also be considered The position will be tailored to the level of experience and additional industrial experience would be viewed very positively. Technical Requirements Required The following capabilities are required for the post Solid theoretical background in one or more of the following areas guidance, estimation, flightorbital dynamics, optimization, flight data processing and analysis. Practical experience in aeronauticalaerospace GNCAOCS or atmospheric flight experience in ESAEuropean programmes is welcome Knowledge of MatlabSimulink and good programming skills Knowledge of planetary entry systems Earth, Mars..., aeronautics systems aircrafts, UAVs... and satellites disposal. Desired Experience in reentry and launcher programs e.g. IXV, ExoMars, Vega, Ariane, suborbital flight, UAVs autonomous landing, would be viewed very positively
