Mission Control System Integration and Verification Engineering Support 1313064 Job Description The selected engineer will work in the TSS Department as a member of the Mission Control Applications and Tools Team, which is part of the GSI Division. The engineer will support the integration and verification testing of the Monitoring Control System, but will also support integration and verification activities at Mission Control Function level including Flight Dynamics and Mission Planning Systems. The typical tasks will include Integration and Verification Activities Generation and updates of test plans and test procedures Generation of test data and test tools Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns Software Maintenance Activities Technical Management User Support and training Software Engineering Methodologies Analysis activities focused on a common software engineering methodology Development of tools Required Skills and Experience University degree in related field. Extensive experience minimum 3 years in integration activities for Satellite Monitoring Control Systems. This includes software deployment, software configuration, adjustment of interfaces and troubleshooting of problems both at subsystem and system level. Extensive experience minimum 3 years in verification testing activities of Satellite Monitoring Control Systems following formal software engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, generation of test plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the target system and generation of test reports. Extensive experience minimum 5 years in the investigation of software anomalies and verification testing of fixes, preferably in the domain of Satellite Monitoring Control Systems. Experience using tools for the automation of software testing. Experience in the maintenance of software applications following formal software engineering processes including at least configuration management, change management and anomaly reporting and tracking. Experience in developing and maintaining software applications using C and Java under UNIX operating systems. Experience with static and dynamic software analysis tools in support to testing and troubleshooting. Very good knowledge of MS Windows Office Suite applications and experience with documentation management systems. Experience in using configuration Management and anomaly reporting and tracking tools. Fluency in English. Work correctly under stress and with the minimum of supervision. Desirable Skills and Experience Knowledge and understanding of space related standards ECSS and CCSDS related to spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Monitoring Control Systems Packet Telemetry and Telecommand standards, PUS Packet Utilisation Standard, ... Experience with Monitoring Control Systems for LEO spacecraft. Experience with MICONYS Control System software from ESA. Experience with EPOCH IPS MC Product Suite from Integral Systems now KRATOS. Knowledge of Flight Dynamics Systems. o Knowledge of Mission Planning Systems. Experience with Satellite Simulators. IBM DOORS requirement management tool. Experience in version Control Systems CVS and SVN. Linux Operating System. Software applications using ODBCJDBC bridges and programmatic interfaces to MySQL RDBMS. Interprocess communication mechanisms, in particular TCPIP and CORBA standards. XML processing schema design, validation, parser libraries, transformation XSLT and XPath. Eclipse Rich Client Platform applications development.
