(Telecompaper) Motorola announced three new smartphones, updating its Moto G and X ranges. The entry-level Moto G launches first, available from 29 July in over 60 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The smartphone will sell in a choice of black or white, with optional coloured shells, for a recommended retail price of EUR 199.99. The Moto Maker service to customise the individual design of each phone will also be expanded to the G phone, including in the new market of Brazil, where the G led smartphone sales for a year. The higher-end Moto X range is expanding with two new models: Moto X Play, available starting in August in countries across Europe, Latin America and Canada, and Moto X Style, launching in Europe, Latin America and North America in September and coming to Asia later in the year. Pricing details for these phones will be announced closer to launch. In the US, Motorola will sell the Moto X direct to consumers, as a 'Pure Edition', without operator software and support for all major spectrum bands.
