Staff are supported by local Country based offices We offer our staff a number of additional benefits and assistance For our activities in EUMETSAT we are currently seeking a Dissemination Multi Mission Elements engineering to work within the System Engineering and Projects Division. Tasks As a member of the MME Systems Upgrade Projects team, the MultiMission Dissemination Engineer shall provide support to programmes under development. In this respect, the engineer is expected to write and review requirement specifications and change proposals, prepare procurements, participate in technical inspections and reviews, document the system architecture design and write evaluation reports, review reports, test reports and overall status reports. The tasks of the engineer will include Analysis of Ground Segment requirements Generation of the Programme requirements on the Dissemination MultiMission Elements and contribute to the definition of the design specification for the Dissemination Multi Mission Elements Definition of the system architecture and interfaces between the Dissemination MultiMission Elements and the other elements of the Programme Ground Segment Performing engineering budgets and changes analysis Contribution to the generation of System Design Documents, Design Justification Documents and Interface Control Documents Generation and maintenance of Dissemination drawings for room layout and rack layout Support to the definition of the AIV approach for the Dissemination MultiMission Elements, including the generation of Test Plan and Test Procedures Participation to Programme projects reviews SRR for Ground Segment, PDR, CDR, etc... Maintain the baseline Requirements Specifications of Dissemination, covering the building Dissemination Participation in any necessary meetings and reviews Coordination of Dissemination activities and reporting of status and actions. In the performance of these tasks, the engineer shall apply the EUMETSAT configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards, quality management procedures and maintenance procedures. Qualifications and Requirements The engineer shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision within the team. Due to the nature of the position, the engineer shall have good interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude with strong ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the consultant must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Essential The engineer shall have the following experience and background University degree or equivalent in the domain of engineering or computer sciences System Engineering AIT experience for the development of major upgrades new ground segments for dissemination systems in a 247 operational environment Full development cycle of data dissemination systems, from the definition of requirements to design and testing At least 5 years working experience in the field of data dissemination systems Standard Communication protocols, data exchange protocols, data compression schemes. Desirable Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS Configuration Control processes and tools Background in hardware and software aspects of computer systems Experience with satellite data transport standards e.g. DVB, CCSDS.
