We are Looking for MultiMission Dissemination Operations Engineers mfd to work at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany Tasks The engineering service shall cover the following engineering service requirements Dissemination Operations Including tasks related to dissemination operations and engineering for EUMETSAT missions and dissemination and encryption operations Operational Data Flow Monitoring and Reporting Including the design, development, documentation and maintenance of tools that provide dissemination statistics reports Operational Documentation Interface with other teams and partners Evolutions of the Dissemination Systems Including the acquisition and maintenance of an operational view of the dissemination and encryption functions of the ground segment, as well as a systemwide understanding of its interfaces with multimission elements MMEs and external interfaces Operations Buildup of future missions Oncall support End user support and documentation for end users Essential requirements University degree or equivalent in a discipline relevant to the job profile At least 3 years demonstrated experience in operations or software maintenance of realtime filebased data dissemination systems Familiar with DVB satellite communications and ground segment operations Demonstrated experience in major Linux distributions and Windows Windows 7, 8, 10 as user Computer analysis skills, including analysis of events and logs, and be familiar with Excel Presentation skills and be familiar with Powerpoint Familiar with configuration control Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and written Ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work under pressure and with a minimum of supervision Encryption technologies, USB smart cards, TripleDES For key persons providing oncall support the following is considered as essential At least 3 years demonstrated experience in o providing near realtime data services in a highavailability environment 247 o monitoring of near real time data flows in large computer networks o First and second level support in data services Basic system administrator skills, i.e. configuration, installation and scripting for Linux and Windows Demonstrated experience in interaction with external partners Demonstrated experience in coordinating of system changes or interfaces with external organizations For key persons providing enduser support the following is considered as essential Demonstrated experience in interaction with endusers via email, phone or other online tools Demonstrated experience in supporting end users in application software upgrades and application software configuration changes Demonstrated experience in preparing user guides, FAQs, and other documentation in user friendly style Excellent document writing skills Desirable requirements DVB based receiveonly earth stations for satellite communications DVBS2 technology IP multicast data distribution systems, such as Tellicast provided by Major network protocols TCPIP, UDP, etc. Network application protocols ftp, sftp, ssh, https, etc Network application protocols ftp, sftp, ssh, https, etc XML language and tools Formalized hardwaresoftwaresystem testing Subversion, CVS, eclipse Other information Start Date is March 1, 2019 Tor apply online please visit www.scisys.despacejobs
