Myanmar Apparel Exports in 1st Quarter 2018 (Country Report)

Myanmar's apparel exports have continued surging to the European Union in the first quarter this year, with shipments to Germany even doubling from a year earlier. The impoverished country takes advantage of a duty-free access to the European Union and of low labour costs. The sharp increase of the minimum wage this year could however weaken its competitiveness. Our statistical tables provide a comprehensive view of Myanmar's apparel exports per destination in first quarter 2017. Detailed EU and US import data per category of products over the same period are also released. Historical data are available for download covering the last 5 years (2013-2018)
