What can you expect? You will contribute to the ongoing deployment and exploitation phase of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system, as well as the definition of the future second generation of Galileo by contributing on system performance and integrity aspects. You will join the Airbus Navigation Department. With more than 60 engineers and almost 20 years of experience it is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. In your daily activities you can expect Contribution to the definition of the next generation of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system Responsible for the engineering of SafetyofLife support functions, in particular system design for Advanced RAIM applications Definition and consolidation of fault trees and continuity trees and engineering of underlying system requirements and functionality Contribution to system Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety modelling Elaboration of system feared event trees versus system functional chains down to segment level Detailed modelling and simulation of system functionalities and algorithms to assess the expected enduser performance Tradeoff analyses for different solutions and implementation options Assessment and justification of performance budget and management of performance drivers Support to definition of transition concepts from the active Galileo architecture towards the next generation architecture Support to improvement of time to market of Galileo Services by advanced system verification, validation and qualification concepts We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to a degree in Engineering in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Navigation, Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Geodesy, Computer Science with focus on Systems Design and Algorithms or similar Profound experience in system design, requirements engineering and performance budget management Deep understanding of Advanced RAIM concepts and SafetyofLife applications and corresponding end user constraints Deep understanding of GNSS receiver processing and receiver integrity algorithms Understanding of signal generation and ground monitoring data processing Experience in describing and modelling of statistical processes in particular for error propagation analyses Understanding systems engineering processes with requirements management and review gates Experience in engineering software and programming with C, Python or Matlab Experience in rapid coding and efficient usage of engineering tools Ability to work within an international culture and willingness to adjust to an international environment Fluent in German and English To apply click here
