A vacancy for a Navigation system design and prototyping software engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join the AOCSGNC FD Advanced Studies TLS and will be in charge of the design of new Navigation systems or eventually AOCSGNC Attitude and Orbit Control system concepts and technologies for Earth Observation, Telecommunications, Navigation, Science, Formation Flying, Landing Rendezvous. This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities. Tasks accountabilities Within this context, you will be in charge of the following activities for both satellite system studies technological Research Development studiescontracts Defining, analysing and protecting innovative navigation system concepts for new space missions architectures, algorithms, actuators and sensors, Iteratively deriving navigation systems and potentially AOCSGNC functional chain requirements architecture from mission needs, environment, spacecraft characteristics and equipment performances, Defining and designing navigation systems and potentially AOCSGNC algorithms, and assessing the preliminary performancefeasibility on functional simulators, Validating new concepts through an adapted approach full simulation, prototypeEM development and tests, SoftwareHardware IntheLoop and coordination with other engineering entities image processing team, onboard software, mechanical electrical design, simulation tools, Supporting the transfer to industrial development phases through adequate HW prototyping for future GNSS, hybridized or purely VisionBased navigation chain. As the successful candidate, you should be willing to invest yourself in gaining expertise of advanced navigation filters and associated objectoriented prototyping tools. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to a Masters degree level or equivalent, ideally with a specialisation in Space andor Automatic Control, Initial experience in a similar position, ideally in the avionicsGNC field, Knowledge ofexperience in allpart of the following technical fields Automatic control and signal filteringprocessing basics knowledge or willingness to learn advanced stochastic filtering methods is a must, Space flight dynamics basics, Objectoriented programming for modelling and functional simulation, Navigation, AOCSGNC system design realtime implementation, Ability to adapt to rapidlychanging contextsrequirements while maintaining technical qualityfocus, and to rapidly identify key design drivers and summarise recommendations, Innovative spirit, Good communication skills and ability to convince, Selforganisation autonomy, Sense of technical quality commitment, Ability to workinterface with teams, Negotiation level of French and advanced level of English.
