HE Space is a successful international space company. For 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for an Oceanopgraphy Technical and Scientific Support to support our customer in Germany. Oceanography Technical and Scientific Support Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will be working onsite as part of the Oceanography team of experts and scientists to support the following tasksareas Preparation of test data and product readers Support to the development of tools for calibration andor validation Support to the development of tools for product processing monitoring Contribution to the verification and validation of product generation Contribution to the assessment of performance budgets Contribution to the execution of scientific support studies Participation in reviews. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in oceanography, meteorology, physics, or equivalent Several years of experience with satellite Sea Surface Temperature andor Ocean Colour data sets, or with microwave radiometry Experience in the development and validation of satellite data processing Experience with satellite altimetry of the ocean surface and with large data sets are an advantage Hands on experience with calibration and product validation methods Very good skills in a higher programming language, such as CC or Java Skills in writing technical and scientific documents Familiarity with Microsoft Office Good interpersonal skills in support of team work Fluency in English is mandatory French would be an asset. This job is located in Darmstadt, Germany. We are looking for candidates who are available from April 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter.
