Oman to commission first sugar mill in 2015

Oman Sugar Refinery Co (OSRC), a newly formed special purpose vehicle (SPV) company, has announced the sultanate\'s first sugar refinery is to be set up with an investment of $200m at the Port of Sohar, Muscat Daily has reported. The refinery, which will have the capacity to produce 1mn tonnes of refined sugar per year, is to be built in two phases, and will produce Omani branded products for local, regional and international markets, said OSRC.
