Main responsibilities The successful candidate will concentrate hisher activities on the following tasks Translation of optical payload performance requirements into optical systems specifications. Conceptual design of optical systems, as telescopes, spectrometers. Optical design analysis and verification including optical tolerances analyses. Assessment of optomechanical layouts. Definition of plans for experimental validation and calibration of optical systems. Evaluation and analysis of test results. Verification of high precision optical components technology developments. Specifically Support integration and performance testing of optical instruments. Participation to instrument design reviews. Support of optical instrument developments including resolution of critical development problems. Ideal candidate The successful candidate will bring a PhD or MSc in Optical Engineering or Physics, as well as experience in these fields, and minimum 4 years of experience in the tasks similar to the ones described above. Additionally, the key person requires Project andor industrial experience in the design, engineering and testing and verification of various types of optical instrumentation. Handson experience in optical manufacturing techniques, alignment and tolerancing.
