(Telecompaper) Orange announced a new voice over Wi-Fi feature for its Libon mobile app. Customers with the Android version of the app will be able to make and receive calls with their existing mobile number over a Wi-Fi connection. The new 'Reach Me' feature will not require a data connection over the mobile network, allowing customers to still make high-quality voice calls when out of range, for example when at home or in the office, Orange said. The feature will be demonstrated on the Orange stand at Mobile World Congress. Further details of country roll-out and tariffing will be announced at the commercial launch of Reach Me later in the first half of 2015.
