Space Applications Services performs and supports system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position PA Safety Support Engineer ENGSERVPAE201501 Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. You will support the ESA PA Safety Manager for designated projects in conducting, monitoring assessing the implementation of the PA Safety Programme. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Establishing the PAS requirements baseline for all elements of the project, in compliance with the ESA general Product Assurance and Safety policy. Reviewing contractors plans, specifications and effort proposed for the execution of the project PAS programme. Monitoring project PA status identify relevant PA issues, including NCR SPR Waivers Problems Critical Items and systematically tracking all items. Participating in the Boards established within the project for the disposition of Nonconformances Failure Reviews, Test Reviews, etc. Guiding and monitoring the application and procurement of EEE parts, materials and processes and controlling implementation of applicable requirements. Monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities with quality assurance audits, mandatory and key inspection points, test witnessing and configuration inspections. Defining the formal acceptance requirements and conducting the Acceptance Reviews of all contractual deliverable items. Supporting the organisation management of the support from all PA Disciplines. Controlling NCR Waivers Problems Critical Items. PA for the verification, qualification, acceptance delivery activities. Participating in progress meetings and CCB meetings. Participating in all project reviews, including safety reviews. Reproting project PA status deviations from plan schedule of all above. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a University degree in a relevant discipline, minimum 6 years of experience in Product Assurance and Quality Assurance in the aerospace domain. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 is an asset. Furthermore, candidates are required to have following skills Good interpersonal, organisation and communication skills. The ability to work in a diverse team environment. Fluent in English.
