Space Applications Services develops hardwaresoftware systems and performs system engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the aerospace industry. We are involved in international manned unmanned spacecraft programmes including the Internal Space Station ISS, earth observation, science, exploration, communications and related technology development. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following immediately available position Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the Space Applications Services headquarters in Zaventem Brussels. You will act as PA Safety PAS Manager concurring to the establishment and implementation of the related Company policyrules and conducting, monitoring and assessing the implementation of the PAS programme for designated projects. Responsibilities include Supporting the Companys organisation management in establishing PAS policy and rules in compliance with the ESA general Product Assurance and Safety policy. Coordination of the PAS activities assigned to the various PAS engineers. Establishing the PAS requirements baseline and relevant documentation for the assigned projects. Reviewing subcontractors and internal documentation for compliance with the Company PAS programme. Monitoring project and PA status, and identify and control relevant PA issues, including NCRs SPRs Problems Critical Items, and systematically controlling all items and ensuring proper closeout. Being on the Boards for the disposition of Nonconformances Failure Reviews, Test Reviews, etc. Guiding and monitoring the application and procurement of EEE parts, materials and processes and controlling implementation of applicable requirements. Monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities with internal and external Quality Assurance audits, Mandatory and Key Inspection points, test witnessing and configuration inspections. Defining plans and formal acceptance requirements and conducting the Acceptance Reviews of all contractual deliverable items. Participating in progress meetings and Change Control Board meetings and project reviews at all levels. Prepare Safety Analyses, Flight Safety Data Packages, Maintenance Safety Assessments, and Hazard Reports in accordance with SSP 30599, SSP 51700 and SSP 50021. Provide technical support for interpretation of safety requirements, and for impact evaluation of newrevised requirements. Support Flight Safety Reviews and Safety Technical Interchange Meetings. Provideprepare documentation Test Reports, Analyses, Certificates of Compliance, etc. as closeout of the safety verifications identified in Hazard Reports. Prepare Flight Safety Certificates and attached supporting documentation. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Minimum 6 years of experience in PAS in the aerospace domain, with experience in the ISS Payload Safety. Knowledge of systems engineering. Knowledge of ISS environment for scientific payloads and proficiency in ISS Safety Requirements. Knowledge of ECSS standards, in particular ECSSQ. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 would be an asset. Knowledge of DO278DO178 and DO254 would be an asset. Good command of English, both written and spoken, ismandatory.
