Primary Purpose of the Role The Pre Sales Engineer is dedicated to support the Regional Sales team in their efforts to grow Partner and End User revenues within Global Government. The role requires that you are also part of the Global Government Technical community and support efforts across the PreSales function to raise the bar in technical excellence. The job holder will be required to engage proactively with a broad crosssection of contacts across the company, end users and channel partners. The focus of the role is to influence and understand the clientpartner technical requirements and develop solutions, using the whole Inmarsat portfolio, which helps them succeed. The role is located in Miami and will be required to work within a matrix organisation. Key Responsibilities Work with customers, partners and sales teams to define, shape and understand technical requirements Develop high quality solutions, using the whole range of the Inmarsat portfolio, that meets the time, cost and budget requirements identified. Assist customerspartners in the development of clear technology strategyroadmaps related to the development and use of Inmarsat services. Support bidding activity with timely, accurate and well written input to bid responses. Bid input must be of a high quality standard. Develop articulate, clear presentations on integrated solutions with benefits to customers Update the customerpartnerteam regularly defined by the project on the progress of the projects under the responsibility of the role. Be on hand to support the sales channel with customer demonstrations and technical solution training as appropriate. Keep abreast of potential solution vendors that could be used to address specific requirements of customers. Manage all technical G2 equipment including loan agreements, insurance, and shipping and handover of equipment to customers. Responsibility for lab demonstrations and NOCSCC tours for G2 customers and guests. Lead solutions testing in BGAN lab, meet with solutions providers, and ensure BGANFB equipment is ready to facilitate endtoend testing. Become technically fluent on all Inmarsat services and network infrastructure. Develop an understanding of key solutions used by government clients. Essential Knowledge and Skills B2B presales engineering experience gained within the IT andor Telecoms industry Degree level education Technically proficient with an excellent knowledge of IP networks, handling of IP traffic and IP behaviour Customer focused with strong presentation and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences alike. Experience of working proactively with customers. Handling effective meeting, conference and telephone calls to improve the level of engagement with technical customers. Solutions driven proven track record of understanding complex technical requirements and translating this into solutions Good organisationalproject management skills Good experience and skilled in technical writing to prepare excellent bid responses Accustomed to working in crossfunctional teams in an international environment Fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Able to travel within the Region as needed. Desirable Knowledge and Skills Understanding of mobile satellite, Fixed Satellite and cellular industry familiarity with Inmarsat products and services would be an advantage but not essential Knowledge of the Government market would be of advantage Security clearance would be an advantage Inmarsat Qualities Inmarsat employees aspire to certain behaviours which support our wider corporate values, and lie at the heart of our continued success as an organisation.
