(Telecompaper) Rival private equity firms CVC Capital Partners and Apax Partners have held talks about forming a consortium to buy UK mobile operator O2 from Telefonica, reports The Sunday Times citing unnamed City sources. They are discussing how to raise enough funds to finance a potential offer, with insiders indicating that they will probably seek support from a sovereign wealth fund if they launch a takeover bid.
